Kindergarten curriculum at a glance

September: Welcome to Kindergarten! The focus for this month will be
getting to know one another. We will discuss family relationships as
well as friendships outside the family. The next step will be to
concentrate on establishing our daily routines and classroom rules.
At the end of this month, homework will be introduced in addition to
our normal daily class work. This will help your child learn at home
through your parental guidance.
October: Counting, Calendars, and Shapes
This month’s activities will be centered on establishing a
foundation in mathematics. This will be achieved through a focus on
counting (forward and back, from 1 to 10), using and understanding
the calendar, and an introduction to geometric shapes and symmetry.
