"Mr. Puppet" Show
March 19th - On March 19th Mr. Puppet aka Bob Abdou will
visit Little Lambs and perform for us! We are very excited to
host this pre-eminent performing puppet purveyor who hails
from Austin, Texas. (Yeee-hah!) We are very lucky to be able to host
the master of muppetry as he will be in the area during a US tour.
Mr. Puppet has performed for audiences all over America, TV and
radio and has a lot to share with kids. Talent and humor come
naturally to this Prince of puns. We invite you to skip work,
bring siblings to the show (time to be announced) and check out his
website and videos here.
Look For Our New Website - Sometime in mid-March we will be rolling out our new website. All the information you've come to expect, plus some new features including a store where we will sell Create-a-Curriculum and Mr. McG & Me CD's, Little Lambs fashions (coming), and beautiful hand-made gifts from Asia which wull benefil Grandma Cares. More info will now be accessible from the home page. You can always sign up for newsletter email delivery, too, so save a byte even though it's a renewable resource.
About Our Summer Program - We are receiving parent inquiries about our summer program. We are a child care center which is preschool oriented. Moving young children safely in a bus costs at least $200 per trip; about $5 per student and supervisors. Parents would need to provide an activity fee in addition to tuition that would cover these costs. This summer we will study “Island of the Blue Dolphins” by Scott O’Dell. The chapters will be read Monday thru Wednesday with appropriate island and craft experiences in a camp environment. On Thursdays the Centers have water day with water play activities. Friday the older children will spend most of the day at our West Point site which includes a ball field and community park. Friday picnic and fitness days will be a lot of fun for everyone involved! We will ask parents who are able to drop children off at West Point with a picnic lunch on Fridays and will provide transportation for those who have younger children and are unable to do so. Older students will enjoy making island crafts under the direction of Miss Sandy on Monday thru Wednesday and organized sports under the direction of Miss Alpita on Fridays. Walking field trips are planned to the West Point Fire House and Pizza Time. There is a community ball field and park across the ball field from our West Point Center. We will be going as a group to Elmwood Park Zoo and will be making “island” t-shirts to wear on our trip, which are loads of fun for everyone. If you have any suggestions regarding walking or in house activities please email Miss Julie or call the Center. We would love to hear your suggestions! Keep in mind that the Church hosts Vacation Bible School in the evenings the week of Father’s Day in June which is always a wonderful opportunity for fun during the summer.
Read-Along-Read-A-Thon

Welcome to March! We invite all children big and small to participate in our annual Read-A-Long-Read-A-Thon to celebrate a month of imagination with Dr. Seuss! Here’s how it works: each March we ask our families to help us celebrate the life of Dr. Seuss by donating their children’s used books to support our read-a-thon. We collect the books and have them available to our children as they go home for the day. We send instructions home with a calendar on the back and each night we ask that the children read at least one book with their parents and write that book on the appropriate space on the calendar! Each child that fills in their calendar completely will receive a special surprise! We hope to see all of our families reading together all month long. We hope that this month long event will encourage our families to read together all year long! At the center we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd with a party and we will read a different Dr. Seuss book everyday during the month of March.
Oh,The Weather Outside...can be inpredictable - Please remember that the weather of March is changeable. The children need time outdoors for fresh air and exercise. Please dress your child appropriately for the weather of the day and please send appropriate outerwear! Remember to stock your child’s cubby or bag with season appropriate changes of clothing that are the appropriate size.
