Children learn from their environments and for infants and young toddlers everyday ordinary play is anything but ordinary. Seth is working on hand/eye coordination and fine motor control. What looks like just fun play with blocks is actually a meaningful learning experience. Through block play and stacking activities, infants and young toddlers are simultaneously working on transferring objects from hand to hand, manipulating objects appropriately, hand/eye coordination, fine motor control and creative thinking and problem solving. Activities like block play and stacking are provided throughout our little lambs’ day to ensure that every child is developing age appropriate skills. Now, simple play takes on a whole new meaning!

Fall is an amazing time at Little Lambs, especially for learning science! Cool weather, shorter days and falling leaves make way for many different and unique learning experiences. Children learn so much from just observing and playing in the world around them. For example, playing in the leaves leads to a conversation about why they change color, why they fall off the trees each fall and what happens to the leaves that we don’t clean up (great food for our spring soil) Bees behaving strangely opens up a dialogue about what changes animals and insects go through each fall, who has to get ready to hibernate and who is active all winter long. Ask your children about our Monarch release, where she is going and when she will get there (hint: she is headed for warmer weather and we may be eating turkey) Our little lambs love science even if they don't realize it yet.
- Miss Jenn Today, the toddlers learned about the color orange. We had fun going on a scavenger hunt to find some orange things around the room. The kids even got to finger paint their own picture of the color orange. They love to get messy. We talked about Halloween, Fall and all the orange pumpkins we will see.
-Miss Sabrina They’re welcoming Alex! We are so excited to have Alex join our Little Lambs family. We have had Alex’s parents as part of our family for many years and it's incredible to have Alex join us at last. Alex joins the rest of our little ones as they begin their journey of learning. Looks like they are off to an amazing start!
- Miss Elizabeth During the month of October, our little lambs will learn about letters D,E and F, number 2, the color orange, triangles and…. Community Helpers! There are so many different helpers that keep our communities safe, clean and able to be enjoyed. We will concentrate on police, firefighters and township employees. It is important that our little lambs are able to recognize how these people impact our communities and learn from an early age to be responsible citizens! We will also enjoy Halloween festivities, so come and join us on Tuesday October 31, 2017 at 3:45pm for our annual Halloween Parade! October is always an exciting month!
